Tawam Hospital – United Arab Emirate
The new Tawam hospital was dealt with by the promoter, Mubadala on behalf of SEHA (Abdu Dhabi Health Services Co), Entity linked to the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health. The new complex, developed by John Hopkins Medicine International, will represent the centre of excellence of the middle East region, in the fields of oncology, heart surgery and health care for women.
The programme carried out for a surface area of 200,000 m2 included 45,000M2 allocated to hospitalization, roughly 800 beds, 18 operating theatres with a room with IRM, a PET scan and IRM room in the nuclear medicine service, an oncology service covering 17,000m2 including 4 accelerators, a room for brachytherapy and a programme for several rooms for bone marrow transplants.
Group NOX worked in collaboration with the Architecture firm AART and developed within extremely short time frames (3 months APS+3 months APD) a project strongly focused on innovation, flexibility, adaptability, standardizing and making management easier. This project was work on from France and led in a multi office, integrated NOX Group office in Abu Dhabi, particularly for the project management mission.
NOX Group acted as representative for the contracting authority designing technical batches:
- Hospital Programming, carried out by its medical cell schedule;
- Researching sustainable technologies in accordance with HEQ requirements for the Estidama room, based particularly on developing solar energy and controlling water consumption;
- Using Anglo-Saxon technical regulatory standards.
